I am an educator that currently works for the Tenafly Public School system. I have been in education for 8 years and while I fell into the profession, I consider myself very lucky to do what I do. I was born in New York City to Cuban parents and was the first in my family to attend university in this country. I received both my B.A. and my M.A.T. from Rutgers University. I have taught at both the high school level and the college level. I lived in Italy for a four years after college and have travelled extensively throughout Europe. I have many things to cross of my bucket list but here are a few I don’t mind sharing: one day I would very much like to publish a book. I want to have stepped on at least 5 continents (I have got 3 down so far) and I will jump out of a plane.

One a more serious note, the purpose of this blog is to provide a space for me to interact with my students as we deal with material that deals with the Latin American, Latino and Spanish culture. While I may publish things here that reflect my personal beliefs I intend to use them to make sure my students can articulate their own and not adopt mine as their own.

Muchas gracias, Dana
